Insight Wins Eurosima Ad Campaign of the Year!

INSIGHT WINS
"SURF AD CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR"
AT EUROSIMA AWARDS 2009

Yes folks, we’ve done it again, claiming another award for best advertising campaign for Dopamine at the Eurosima Watermans ball in Hossegor, France.

More than 1000 key industry members and retailers across Europe voted for the award and once again Insight’s creativity inspired the masses, allowing us to take the trophy home for the first time at Eurosima.

Dopamine launched in August 2008 and features WT surfers Kai Otton, Luke Stedman, punk Californian longboarder Jared Mell, the Jamaican surf team and our radical, new-age, hobo-like gypsy surfer Warren Smith.

Insighters were so thrilled with the announcement that the celebrations continued well into the wee hours of the evening. Not a drop of French Champagne spared!

Previous Insight campaigns Dead Modern and Zoup have both won Sima Awards (USA) in the same category and the brand awareness has since gained further momentum in the European parts of the globe.

Insight would like to thank all whom have supported the brand since it’s inception in Europe and beyond.

From Berlin to Hamburg to Amsterdam

Alright so here is the last article of this Insight EU Tour before we launch the video on the blog!

After a good time in Munich it was time to take the road to Berlin and Hamburg.

One demo, one party and a lot of street skateboarding sessions later we were on our way to A'Dam.

Amsterdam is not really a heaven for skateboarders, but still we manage to do a small demo in front of the stores. Beers were flowing, good vibes, and happy times for this last stop on the Insight Eu Skate Tour 09.

Munich aka "Wurst City"

Munich by Jeremy Grousset

English Version

Munich, we arrived late evening at the Elephant Hotel and went straight for dinner in a chinese restaurant. Then a beer for everyone in the local pub and back to the hotel for a good night of sleep.
The following morning we woke up early to try to find some spots, quite hard without a local when you don't know the city. Then it was time to go to the shop for the demo where the floor wasn't at its best. But Loic Benoit aka "LB"  or Mac Giver, found an old garbage and decided we could ride it.
We built a spot and kept the offices desk on the background for the demo. New spot, new demo, tons of fun.
Planet Sports bought the beers and prepared the wursts! Thanks to them!
At 8 pm we all moved to Cafe King for the party, the wild night ended pretty late for some of us...

Sunny Innsbruck

After the cold and the rain of Zurich we arrived in Innsbruck under the sun and the fresh air of the mountain.
We did the demo in front of Xdouble, Adi and Julia prepared a nice BBQ and every kids could get free sausages and drinks. We ended the demo with a best trick contest and everybody left with goodies, stickers, new boards....and smiles.
Then we moved to the skatepark where the Insight team killed it!
At night the place to be was the Weekender Club, a rock band was playing for the Insight party, free beers were given away and everybody spent a great night of fun.

The following morning we made a big street session before taking the road to Muenchen where lots of things were gonna happen!

Zurich, welcome to Switzerland!

Zurich...or how a situation can look bad at first to then become awesome.

When we left Lyon on the morning it was still raining as hell...the navigator system was saying that Zurich was only 3h30 away...good news!

We stopped on our way in Annecy and then straight to Zurich where we got stucked in a huge traffic jam. It took us almost 2 hours to drive the last 10 km.

Luckily Giusi and the Beach Mountain team welcomed us with fresh beers and sausages and even if we couldn't do the demo (because of the rain) a smile was on everybody faces.

We quickly got ready for the party Giusi organised at the Hafenkneipe where a rock band, Cloris was playing. Crazy party, crazy people, tons of good vibes.

We decided to stay one more night in Switzerland, as Zurich seemed to have lots of good spots. However, unfortunately, the rain was still with us the following day and we could only skate a little park under a bridge.

At night, and as a local, Monir and his friends showed us the best clubs of the city, wild night again before the road to Innsbruck.

Lyon: rainy but crazy

Lyon is the new hometown of Sam Partaix.

When we arrived after a 4 hours drive from Toulouse we were welcomed by the rain...that didn't stop for the next 4 days.

As it was impossible to do the demo the following day we all went to "La Friche" to shoot some photos and do a bit of filming.
La Friche is a place you won't find anywhere else in France. It was an old Renault factory that has now been taken over by different collective of artists (musicians, land artists, painters...but also skateboarders). Antiz has 2 mini ramps in "La Friche" and let us ride them.

Then it was time to get ready for the party at the Voxx with Namasté Skate Shop where all the skaters from Lyon were waiting for free beers and goodies. Fun and happy times again!

Toulouse by the local Jeremy Grousset

Toulouse, the pink city: we arrived on the 30th of August late afternoon. We just stopped at the hotel to drop the luggages and went looking for some spots. As a local I had to show them the right places. After 2 or 3 spots we ended on a jersey with some great tricks made by everybody. Diner time is coming soon we are all starving and decided to go to "Flunch" and then to the hotel for a good night of rest.
The following morning we left the hotel and found a few spots, nothing crazy but enough for some pics.
At 5 pm it was time for the demo at "Place de L'Europe". Then, as everybody likes in Toulouse, we started an OUT contest with the locals. Free gift and goodies for everyone yeeeaaaahhhh!
As the night was coming we all went to the bar called "Le Petit London" for some free beers and a concert of The Famous Munchies, the band in which I'm playing the guitar.
After a few hours we are all tired and knowing that we have a 5 hours drive to Lyon the following morning we went back to the hotel...alone or with a special gift...ask Jeremy Hugues...
